Our weekly casting director workshops are designed for actors with professional experience and/or actor training that want a safe, fun and collaborative environment in which to learn more about the casting process .
Our actors benefit from meeting a host of casting directors – people that, to an actor, can often seem scary but up close are very friendly and charming. Learn about the dos and don’t of auditioning in general and also learn the particular tastes of each casting director. Feel free to ask them questions that you’ll not have an opportunity to later – when you finally have the big audition.
You’ll have some time to rehearse a scene given to you by our Casting Director (often something they have used for casting recently) and then show them what you can do. They will often give that vital feedback you always wish you had after an audition and the chance to do it again.
Here are the nuts and bolts: When you are booked onto the course your Spotlight link will be sent to each Casting Director. They
will then assign you a scene and your sides are most often emailed to you before the workshop.
Occassionally, the CD will give you script in the workshop itself. We currently run one course at a time - either a Sat morning course (10am-12.30pm) or evening (6.30pm-9pm)You will be with the same actors for the full 6 weeks so you get to know each other. There is a Q and A session at the beginning or end of each workshop. You will work with 6 different Casting Directors over the course of 6 weeks. In each workshop you will be given a scene, partnered with someone, give some time to rehearse and then perform your scene (script in hand) in front of the class. (You often learn more from watching others than you do from performing yourself)A course of six workshops costs £170.Before booking your place, please read the Terms and Conditions (right). Booking a place with Actors Platform means you agree to these terms.
