Agent workshops

You’ve done your training.... You’re happy with your headshots.... Now how do you get an agent?

Thanks to those of you who participated in A2...we are yet to set a date for A3, but check back here for future updates!

On TUESDAY 18th OCTOBER we organied the second of our Agent workshops, which provided 20 students with the opportunity to meet with 3 agents in a relaxed setting. All three agents bring a wealth of industry knowledge to the class and were on hand to answer all your burning questions!

Read On to find out more about the format & how these classes operate...

THE WHY? We are doing this because the feedback we have had from you is that it is increasingly difficult for you to secure meetings with Agents. We know it can be tough, and sometimes even daunting to call your own Agent, let alone try to approach a new one! So we've done that bit for you. By signing up to this workshop you have a guaranteed opportunity to meet three Agents, all in one evening!

THE WHO? If you are currently unrepresented, this is a fantastic chance to meet some agents face to face.. If you are represented and currently considering a change, this is a great way to weigh things up, ask the questions you've always wanted to ask - and get some honest answers. And if you're simply just wondering what these Agents do for you all day - here's the chance to find out!

The Nuts and Bolts

• The first 30mins will involve an open floor Q&A, there will be a maximum of 20 actors taking part, and here you will be able to ask as many questions as you can fit in the time frame.
• The next 2.5 hours are designed for you each to perform a pre-prepared duologue, lasting NO LONGER than 2 mins. You can either come in on your own & perform against a reader, which we will provide, OR you can sign up with another actor & come in together. (Individual actors will have a slot of 6mins, whereas actors coming in pairs will have a slot of 12mins.)
• All actors will be asked to leave the room, and then come in one at a time to perform for the Agents. (You will be allocated your slot on a first come first served basis.) You can now ask the agents any questions you may have in a private setting, including direct advice regarding your career. The agents may also give feedback and comment on head shots and CVs.
• The workshop will last 3 hours but actors may leave once they have performed their scene.

It is up to you, the actor, to choose and prepare your scene. This must be a maximum of 2 minutes long – if it goes on longer this then we will have to stop you. The piece you chose can be any genre, but please remember if you keep to the two minutes it will give you longer to talk with the Agents & ask any questions you may have.

*Please note that workshops are for educational purposes only and are not a promise of work or representation.

The Workshop will take place at:
Craven St Rehearsal Rooms, 10 Craven St, WC2N 5PE
Nearest tubes are Charing Cross & Leicester Square
